Silver Towers, a 1.2-million-square-foot complex, is the largest luxury rental development in New York City. Developed by Silverstein Properties, the two 60-story glass towers at 42nd Street and 11th Avenue redefine the Midtown skyline.Silver Towers covers an entire square block and includes a public park, an outdoor terrace, a peaceful inner courtyard, and spa-like amenities, including a 75-foot indoor pool, as well as parking for 194 cars and more than 20,000 square feet of retail. The apartments have been finished with the attention to detail, design approach and high-end finishes found in luxury condominiums. The luxurious, inviting lobbies will have high-end wood panels and limestone finishes along with beautiful glass sculptures. The lobby in the north tower will feature artist David Bennett's glass figurines, while Lino Tagliapietra's glass installation will be displayed in the south tower lobby.
Residents and visitors entering from 42nd Street will pass through luminous portals into a tranquil urban courtyard and glass pavilion created by James Carpenter Design Associates. This work of art inspired by sunlight filtering through foliage is fully integrated into the architecture to create a seamless experience of natural beauty in the urban context.
The public park, designed by Thomas Balsley Associates, is a quarter-acre park with numerous treed pavilions and includes a children's area that features a bronze playground sculpture by artist Tom Otterness, a bocce ball court, an interactive mist fountain, and an area for lounging and picnicking.
River Place, which has 40,000 square feet of retail shops including the city's only Lucky Strike bowling entertainment center, and Silver Towers further enhance the city's far West 42nd Street area.
